I was contacted by Keller Williams, associate Christine Hotchkin this year, 2020, asking if we were thinking about selling our home. I had been contacted by realtors during my 27 years owning this home, but had not really wanted to sell. as luck of the draw, Christine called at the right time. I explained that we were, but weren't sure who we were wanting to use, realty company and would be doing some research. Christine and I spoke for about 45 minutes, she was very helpful, answering all my questions with no pressure. After a very impressive conversation and a couple of days later we decided to go with Keller Williams and use Christine as our listing agent. Christine was very professional during all our conversations as to what I felt was a very stressful process of selling our first home, not anyone's fault, it was just one of the biggest life events that I had ever experienced. Christine was able to walk us through a step by step process and was very thorough prior to putting our house up for sale, explaining in great detail what to be prepared for. I would even say that she was able to wear many different hats through the process, to include being a therapy counselor. Again this process for me was very stressful, but Christine's communication and support was helpful with that stress, even to the point where she was great at being patient while listening to my concerns during the process and working through those concerns in a professional, but compassionate way. It should be noted that our expectations on price were very different from Christine's initially and their were hurdles that we encountered through that piece, but we were able to overcome those issues with Christine within 24 hours, and I was very impressed by her ability to work with us on the price that we desired after an in depth conversation.The day of the listing, the home had two offers which were very impressive and more than what we were asking for, but this is when the process of selling our home became even more stressful. We had accepted the first offer, the house was pending and we were at the end of all the negotiations, including inspections and agreeing to repairs, which were accepted by the buyer. So all done, now we can count our money and move on right, WRONG. The day that we made initial payments on other living arrangements, in fact not more than an hour after making those payments I received a call from Christine, (Murphy's Law), yep, you guessed it. House purchase fell through, the buyer although pre-approved, lost their financing. While being informed of what I felt was absolutely the worst news we had received during the process and wanting to explode on Christine because she was the one giving me the bad news, I knew this was not her fault, and I had to take a deep breath, well maybe several. By the end of our conversation I was laughing about what had occurred, even though I wanted to cry. Christine was able to make some positive's statements in what was a very negative conversation. I hung up with Christine and had to take a moment to realize I was really awake and not having a nightmare, well it was a nightmare, but unfortunately I was awake and reality had just hit me.One hour later I received a call from Christine. Initially I was like what now, I even thought about not answering the call and just letting it go to voicemail, I didn't want anymore bad news. Glad I answered the phone call. Christine wanted to let me know that she had another buyer, pre approved, oh boy, with an offer of $5000.00 more than we accepted initially. Good news, but now we had to start the process all over again, and what would go wrong this time, (nothing), we sold the house with no issues. Everyone was happy and we moved on.I want to thank Christine for her hard work, quick response and quick response to some areas of a sellers nightmare. We couldn't have done it without her, including all the obstacles including Covid 19, this worked out well, we are very pleased with Keller Williams and especially Christine and all the people within the Keller Williams organization that supported our interest in selling our home. Christine helped my husband and I to buy our first house.
